Don’t let fees be the thing that stops you from studying with us
At Bournemouth & Poole College we want to remove any barriers for learning and want to make it as easy as possible for everyone. We believe education can change lives, and no one should feel like they can’t make positive steps towards this.
There are fees for some of our courses, although these do depend on the level you’re studying at and which particular course you’re interested in. The information on this page gives a general overview of what you can expect to pay for your course. The individual course pages will have exact fees once these are confirmed each year. There may also be associated costs for certain courses for things like uniform, specialist equipment and educational visits. These will be confirmed with you on enrolment to the course.
The most important thing to know about finance and funding if you’re 16-18 years old, is that you don’t have to pay course fees to study one of our full-time courses or apprenticeships.
If you're under 19 on 31st August at the start of the academic year, you will likely be able to study with us at no cost to you (except associated costs on certain courses e.g. uniform, educational visits etc). There are a small number of exceptions to this and our Enrolment team will be more than willing to help answer any questions you might have.
If you need financial support for other areas of college life, you may be entitled to bursary schemes through The College. Please look at our student finance page for more information on the support that may be available to you.
If you are aged 19 or over and looking to study one of our courses, the fees will be available on the course page once confirmed. There may be additional exam or materials fees to take into consideration, but these are all outlined on the course pages.
If you are aged 19 to 23 and are studying for your first full level two or level three qualification, you are exempt from paying course fees.
There are other fee exemptions available, subject to previous qualifications, employment status, benefits and other factors. Our fees policy has lots of information on these – you can view it here.

If you are not eligible for our financial support or you still have further fees to pay, you can opt to pay your course fees in full at the time of enrolment or, if you prefer, you can choose to pay in instalments. Int his event you would pay a 20% deposit of your course fee by cash or credit/debit card when you enrol, followed by up to eight equal monthly Recurring Card Payments. These fees are to be paid in full by the end of your course. You will need to set up your Recurring Card payment plan when you enrol or as soon as possible after enrolment.
If you are aged 19-23 and undertaking your second Level 3 qualification or are 24+ and undertaking a Level 3 course you can apply for the Advanced Learning Loan. This loan will pay for your tuition fees, and you will not start paying it back until you are earning over £26,575 a year.
If you take out the Advanced Learning Loan and you are studying an Access to HE course, the loan will be written off if you go on to successfully complete a university degree.
