The Creature From Gillman Lake - College Students Media Project

The Creature From Gillman Lake: Film Premiere

An exciting large-scale short film project that has involved over 60 students on Bournemouth & Poole College’s fantastic UAL Level 3 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology course is coming to a close this June with a premiere of a supernatural short-film.

Second year students on the media course at The College have been working in conjunction with Dorset Wildlife Trust and is a short creature-feature style horror film with environmental issues at it's core.

It was filmed over the course of a week at Lychett Bay and students were involved in all elements of production such as camera operators, clapper-loaders, sound recordists, continuity and acting, as well as an animation team and VFX team working back on the college campus. The production went well, but the students and lecturers were constantly battling against changing tides and changing weather.

The premiere of the film is due to take place at a private screening event on 13th June at The Jellicoe Theatre.
