Bournemouth & Poole College student secures a place at Cambridge University

Bournemouth & Poole College is incredibly proud of student Alessandra Penteado, who has successfully secured a place to study Archaeology at St Edmund's College at the University of Cambridge. Alessandra is currently an Access to Humanities and Social Science student studying at our Lansdowne Campus.

Alessandra shared her thoughts about her incredible achievement:

“I applied for several universities, one being Cambridge. I thought it would be an incredible experience to study there. I was both happy and excited to find out they had offered me a place on their Archaeology course, of which I have accepted.

Bournemouth & Poole College has amazing tutors who have helped us throughout our studies. Liz Mytton is an amazing course co-ordinator who has been so helpful. She provided us with expert guidance throughout the UCAS process and gave me references that helped secure my place at Cambridge.
There are other college tutors who are amazing professionals, that have great knowledge about the areas they are teaching. The team here provided me with the extra support to get my distinction and grades required for university.
The college offers many opportunities, the staff are made up of professionals who will help you with the process and the qualifications you need. I definitely recommend the college to others.

I can't wait to to start studying Archaeology at Cambridge. It’s a childhood dream – I wanted to study it since I was 11. I got offered a place at another university in Southampton – but Cambridge offered me a place I just couldn’t turn down!"

Bournemouth & Poole College’s access programmes have helped many students to secure places at Russell Group universities this year. This has been a key indication of the aspiration of the talent individuals that have studied on these courses.
These programmes provide an excellent preparation for Higher Education and a step towards learners university ambition. Find out more here
