Course Overview

T Levels are Nationally recognised qualifications which carry UCAS tariff points. Passing one T Level is the equivalent of passing three A Levels. T Levels offer a unique way of learning, combining valuable industry experience with classroom study. On this course, you will study a wide-ranging syllabus, offering in-depth learning of engineering and manufacturing maintenance, installation and repair processes and theory. In addition to the core content, you will also complete one specialist module, giving you the opportunity to explore an area of your particular interest. During your industry placement, you will put your study into practice, embedding the knowledge and skills you’ve learned in the classroom. Your placement will provide you with valuable industry experience, helping you to stand out in your future work and/or study endeavours.

What will you learn?

Throughout the course you will:

  • Understand how materials, conditions and context influence design processes.
  • Practice essential mathematics for engineering and manufacturing.
  • Learn about different material processing techniques.
  • Understand how material testing methods and techniques.
  • Study business, commercial and financial awareness such as, basic commercial principles.

This course is for students aged 16-19+ or those wanting to change or start a new career in Engineering.

To enrol on this course, you must have a minimum of five GCSEs at Grades 9 – 4 (Formerly Grades A*–C) including English at grade 4 and Maths at Grade 5.

What will you learn?

Throughout the course you will:

  • Understand how material testing methods and techniques.
  • Study business, commercial and financial awareness such as, basic commercial principles.

Courses consist of 80% of time in the classroom, 20% on a work placement in a relevant workplace.

You can move onto a Higher Education course in Engineering or a related subject, or into the workplace.
