Course Overview

The Engineering and Manufacturing Foundation T Level is an exciting way for your business to attract potential future recruits, allowing you to influence the learning of a new generation entering your industry. The foundation T Level offers students a pathway into completing a full T Level. This programme will be delivered holistically as project-based learning, to provide students with the key theory and practical ability to successfully manage and complete projects. Students will also work towards achieving a grade 5 (formerly grade C) in English and Maths.  Upon successful completion of their Foundation T Level, students will be able to progress onto the higher-level T Level or an apprenticeship. Designed by employers, for employers. Delivered by Bournemouth & Poole College, the College will collaborate with your business to agree how your student placement will work.

What will you learn?

Throughout the course you will:

     Learn about electrical and electronic systems and devices.

     Experience working in an engineering environment.

     Plan and carry out a project in engineering maintenance techniques.

     Bring your English and Maths grades up to a grade 5 (where required).

     Learn through project-based and practical teaching.

     Understand key engineering and manufacturing skills and knowledge.

The Foundation Engineering and Manufacturing T Level offers a great pathway into the engineering sector. Passing this qualification will gain you a Level 2 certificate in engineering, which will provide you with the necessary qualifications to progress onto the full T Level in engineering and manufacturing. You will learn through supervised work-based learning and gain hands on experience working on exciting projects. T Levels offer a unique way of learning, combining valuable industry experience with classroom study.

To enrol on this course, you must have a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above including Maths and English.

T Level students will be assessed in a variety of ways, to ensure they are well-rounded individuals. Students enrolled on this course must be able to demonstrate their performance, skills, knowledge and behaviours across all units of study.

-        Students in an industry placement will complete 30 hours of work experience across the 1-year course.
