The Digital Foundation T Level programme has been specifically designed to develop skills, experience, knowledge and behaviours to support progression on to a T Level. This is a very practical, hands-on course integrating new and emerging technologies and offers a high quality vocational and applied curriculum that is broad and engaging. There will be an option to study specialist units such as Creating Digital Graphics and Computer Networks. This qualification will provide you with a Level 2 certificate. T Levels offer a unique way of learning, combining valuable industry experience with classroom study.
What will you learn?
Throughout the course you will study the following units:
It is targeted at students who want to undertake Foundation skills in Digital.
Students will require a minimum of 4 GCSEs Grades 9-3 (Formerly Grades A*-D) including English and Maths, but with a Grade 4 (Formerly Grade D) or higher in either English or Maths, preferably a GCSE in Computer Science or IT equivalent
25% externally assessment (exam board will set and mark these assessments)
Portfolio assessed work (internal marking)
Students will complete work experience to equip them with the skills and confidence needed in employment.
Level 3 courses you can progress to within Digital:-
IT Helpdesk Support, Hardware/Software installation support, Junior Software Developer and Junior Programmer.
It prepares students to progress and be successful on a T level and will build knowledge and skills in English and Maths. It will further inspire and enthuse students to consider a career in the Digital and Computing sector. You’ll be based in central Bournemouth. This is a very practical, hands-on programme integrating new and emerging technologies.
