Course Overview

The transition to T Level in Business is a new, ground-breaking qualification for 16-19-year olds, specifically designed around a robust work placement giving learners valuable hands-on experience within a business. In addition, you will cover the theoretical knowledge needed in the world of business that is broad and engaging for all learners. Furthermore, will provide students with a route through education that has a clear progression pathway to further study such as a full T Level or an Apprenticeship. 

Pearson BTEC Level 2 Technical in Business Administration, GCSE Maths and English, Work Experience and Preparation, Pastoral Support and Personal Development.

This course is designed for 16-19-year-olds with a strong desire to work within the dynamic world of Business

Students will require a minimum of 4 GCSEs 9-3 (formerly A*-D) including English and Maths; but specifically with a Grade 4 (formerly GCSE A*-C) or higher in either one of the subjects of English or Maths, preferably a GCSE in Business Studies and good knowledge of IT.

 

The course comprises 4 mandatory units:

  • Understanding Administrative Services - externally assessed
  • Providing Administrate Services - internally assessed
  • Using Business Technology to Process and Communicate Information- internally assessed
  • Planning, Organising and Supporting Business Events - internally assessed via a project.

You will also study GCSE English or Maths subject to grades.

45-day work experience to be completed.

T Level business, Level 3 Diploma in Sales and Marketing, Level 3 Travel & Tourism or an Apprenticeship in Business.

Bournemouth and Poole College is affiliated with many professional bodies in the area of Business, Finance and Administration, such as the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), Chartered Institute of Professional Development (CIPD) & Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). The skills and knowledge you will develop in this course are designed to meet the current demands of industry and commerce, and you will find that many of the skills are transferable and will have currency in a wide range of careers, such as Business Administration, Customer Support, Business Travel, Office Support, Estate Agent.

It prepares students to progress and be successful on a full T Level, whilst building knowledge and skills in English and Maths.  It will further inspire and enthuse students to consider a career in the vibrant Business sector. You’ll be based in central Bournemouth.  This is a very practical, hands-on programme integrating new and emerging business practices.
