COMING IN SEPTEMBER 2024!
The purpose of the course is to build on students’ skills and prepare them for the world of work. The course is designed to support students who do not wish to progress to university, but still want to embark on a career within the creative arts. Allowing them to be better prepared for the future and be more employable within their chosen field.
The intention of the qualification is to give students the opportunity to develop their creative ideas and initiate business ventures. The UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Creative Enterprise has been designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to develop their careers as entrepreneurs. This qualification will provide students with an opportunity to cultivate their employability by developing their creative enterprise skills, expanding their industry contact base while developing their start‑up projects and professional practice.
The qualification has been designed to ensure it provides students with the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to prepare them for employment, including self‑employment and/or support a role in the workplace in the chosen industry. The qualification can be used as a starting point to enable them to explore the basis of entrepreneurial activity by developing essential business and management skills in order to identify and respond to business opportunities in their chosen industry.
The course would be aimed at students who do not wish to progress to university and wish to embark on employment within the creative industries, but may not quite be ready to do so. The course will help develop the students understanding of being a self-employed creative and help them develop the skills needed to be successful. It is suitable for students who have an interest in starting up their own projects or company and wish to explore and extend their creative practice via a full‑time immersive learning experience. There are no courses similar to this being run nearby and therefore there is no direct competition. Projects will be designed to support the development of students who begin the course with a clear understanding of the area in which they want to work and the enterprise project they wish to define, develop and realise. However, students who are still unclear at the start will have an opportunity to develop their area for focus. Delivery will therefore meet the needs of each individual student to progress within their own practice.
