Course Overview

An HR consultant or HR business partner will use their expertise in Human Resources to provide and lead the delivery of HR solutions to meet business challenges, together with tailored advice to the business. An HR consultant could be a generalist role, where they provide support across a range of HR areas; or they could take on a specialist role, where they focus and have in-depth expertise in a specific area of HR – such as resourcing, total reward, organisation development, or HR operations, HR Business Partner and HR Adviser.

The HR Consultant/Partner Apprenticeship is an excellent way to develop a highly skilled support service for managers and employees. HR Consultant/Partner apprentices will use their expertise in Human Resources to provide and lead the tailored delivery of HR solutions to meet business challenges. Validated by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and delivered by Bournemouth & Poole College, the Apprenticeship combines workplace learning with study days at college.

The apprenticeship includes working towards a CIPD Level 5 in Human Resource Management qualification.

The focus of the apprenticeship is primarily on individuals who are progressing on their career journey through the organisation. They will most likely have experience in the HR environment or in management and for the purposes of the apprenticeship will need to be employed in a suitable higher level HR role. This apprenticeship is suitable for people who wish or are already working in the private, public or third sector and in various sizes of organisation where job titles may vary.

Typically you will have some experience working in HR or management or a relevant qualification. Minimum GCSEs 4/C and above, which should include English and maths.

As with all Apprenticeships, most of the training will be with the employer on-the-job. The apprentice will also attend College in Bournemouth one day a week throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship and have regular assessments.

There are a number of viable and interesting options which include the Level 7 CIPD Advanced qualifications or CMI Level 5 or Level 7 Management qualifications.
