Course Overview

This one-week intensive course is for people that need to get their maths qualification in a hurry! We will offer the courses at Level 1 and Level 2.

It will cover some of the following maths topics: Percentages, fractions, areas, volumes, ratio etc. The course will also look at how to apply these skills and knowledge in a variety of every-day situations.

The course is for anyone who needs to improve their maths knowledge and confidence and needs to gain a nationally-recognised qualification to help them progress onto the next stage of their work or study life. Due to the intensive nature of the programme, you must be working at your target level (Level 1 or Level 2 as appropriate). This level will have been determined by out pre-course assessment schedule (see below for details).

All prospective students need to take an assessment before commencing this course. The assessment is in two parts: An online BKSB assessment and an in-person non-calculator test. Due to the intensive nature of the course, you must be working at that level already. Otherwise, a part-time course may be more appropriate.

All students will take the exam on the Friday of the course. There are two parts to the exam: a calculator and a non-calculator paper.
