Course Overview
This one-week intensive course is for people that need to get their English qualification in a hurry! We will offer the courses at Level 1 and Level 2.
You will primarily study reading and writing skills. You will improve your ability to read and understand a range of different texts. You will improve your grammar, vocabulary and technical knowledge of English. You will be better able to communicate your ideas in a variety of formats. You will also learn how to structure and give a presentation as well as improve your discussion skills.
The course is for anyone who needs to improve their English knowledge and confidence and needs to gain a nationally-recognised qualification to help them progress onto the next stage of their work or study life. Due to the intensive nature of the programme, you must be working at your target level (Level 1 or Level 2 as appropriate). This level will have been determined by out pre-course assessment schedule (see below for details).
All prospective students need to take an assessment before commencing this course. The assessment is in two parts: An online BKSB assessment and an in-person writing test. Due to the intensive nature of the course, you must be working at that level (L1 or L2) already. Otherwise, a part-time course may be more appropriate.
The exams are mandatory. There are separate external exams for Reading and Writing. You will take these on the Friday of the course. There will also be a Speaking and Listrening assessment which is run within the classes.
