Course Overview
An assessment of the individual’s competence in installation, commissioning and servicing of gas fires.
This assessment is testing the knowledge and skills of gas operatives in accordance with the health and safety legislation in conformity with the European Standard EN45013.
During assessment the candidate must demonstrate knowledge of domestic gas fires including radiant, decorative and live fuel effect with respect to:
- Installation
- Commissioning
- Servicing
To apply for this assessment you must satisfy the BPEC criteria.
You must provide information to the assessment centre regarding your gas industry experience and qualifications, including a current CCN1 certificate and CPA1 or do CPA1 alongside this assessment.
BPEC assessments are conducted in accordance with nationally agreed standards and in compliance with the requirements of the United Kingdom Accreditation Services (UKAS).
Assessment is based on 1 theory test and a practical assessment.
On completion of this assessment you will be able to apply to Gas Safe for registration subject to your current certification.
In addition you may wish to consider assessment (with training where appropriate) in:

- DAH1 (Warm Air)
- CENWAT1 (Boilers/water heaters)
- DAH1 (Warm Air Heaters)
- MET1 (Meters)
- CCLP1 (LPG Core Gas Safety)
- CONGLP1 (NG to LPG Core Gas Safety Changeover)
- HTRLP2 (LPG Appliances)
- LPG for Boats is also available.
The BPEC Registration fee of £55 is required only if this assessment is carried out on its own. This fee is a one off payment, any additional ACS assessments booked at the same time will not be subject to this charge.
