Course Overview

An assessment of the individual’s competence in installation, commissioning and servicing.

This assessment is testing the knowledge and skills of gas operatives in accordance with the health and safety legislation and conformity with the European Standard EN45013.

At assessment the candidate must demonstrate knowledge of domestic gas fires including radiant, decorative and live fuel effect with respect to:

  • Installation
  • Commissioning
  • Servicing

To apply for this assessment you must satisfy the BPEC criteria.

You must provide information to the assessment centre regarding your gas industry experience and qualifications, including a current CCN1 certificate and CPA1 or do CPA1 alongside this assessment, and expiring HTR1.

BPEC assessments are conducted in accordance with nationally agreed standards and in compliance with the requirements of the United Kingdom Accreditation Services (UKAS).

Assessment is based on 1 theory test and a practical assessment.

On completion of this assessment you will be able to apply to Gas Safe for  registration subject to your current certification.

In addition you may wish to consider assessment (and training where appropriate) in:

  • CKR1 (Cookers)
  • CENWAT1 (Boilers/water heaters)
  • MET1 (meters)
  • HTRLP2 (LPG Appliances)
  • LPG for Boats is also available.

£118 plus BPEC Registration fee if stand alone

The BPEC Registration fee of £55 is required only if this assessment is carried out on its own. This fee is a one off payment, any additional ACS assessments booked at the same time will not be subject to this charge.
