Welcome
The Gas training and Assessment facility at Bournemouth and Poole College provides an excellent service catering for a vast range of training and assessment options. The Team in this area is led by Andrew Reeks with the training and assessment being managed by Ian Fulwood and Ian Martin. The Admin team have an excellent knowledge of the courses on offer so please contact them for initial support and guidance.
The assessments are conducted through BPEC accordance with nationally agreed standards and in compliance with the requirements of the United Kingdom Accreditation Services (UKAS).
These assessments have been designed to test competence in all aspects of the Gas Safety requirements in accordance with the requirements for registration with Gas Safe.
Combinations of courses can be built up to suit your individual needs and the times can be flexible to support you and your business.
On completion of this assessment you will be able to apply to Gas Safe for registration subject to your current certification.
You can select from the following in either Natural Gas (NG) or Liquid Petrolium gas (LPG) training and assessment in the following areas:
- CCN1 - (Core Gas Safety) Initial or Renewal
- CKR1 - (Cookers) Initial or Renewal
- CENWAT1 - (Boilers/water heaters) Initial or Renewal
- HTR1 - (Fires and wall heaters) Initial or Renewal
- MET1 - (Meters) Initial or Renewal
- DAH1 - Warm Air
- CPA1 - Gas analysers
- CONGLP1 - (NG to LPG Core Gas Safety Changeover)
- HTRLP2 - (LPG Appliances) Initial or Renewal
In addition the centre also offers Unvented Hot water, Water Regulations and Energy efficiency training and assessment.
To apply for any assessment you must satisfy the BPEC criteria.
You must provide information to the assessment centre regarding your gas industry related experience and qualifications.
If you require a CAT2 evidence record to support your entry for courses that are new to you as part of an "initial" assessment, support and guidance in the completion of the CAT2 documentation is provided prior to starting the course.
In the case of renewals you will also be required to provide details such as your ACS registration card that indicate the renewal date requirements for your current qualifications.
All assessments are conducted in a dedicated Gas workshop where you will find an excellent range of equipment and facilities in support of your training and assessment.

All our prices are competitive and special prices for block bookings are considered for companies with a number of operatives to train.
The registration fee is only paid on one course and the remainder are included within this regiration fee if they are conducted at the same time or shortly after the first assessment you take with us.
