Inclusivity in the workplace is important for any industry, and LGBTQ+ inclusion is a priority for many organisations. Social attitudes and legal rights have changed dramatically in recent years, and it’s important that employees are protected from discrimination in the workplace. This qualification is great for anyone interested in LGBTQ+ issues. You will develop your knowledge of language, stereotyping and assumptions relating to lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people in the workplace. You will learn about LGBTQ+ history and culture, as well as organisational policies and legislation that affects LGBTQ+ people at work, and gain the knowledge you need to promote inclusion in the workplace.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) history and culture

Language, stereotyping and assumptions relating to LGBT people

Organisational policies and legislation affecting LGBT people in the workplace

Contribute to maintaining a supportive workplace environment for LGBT people

These funded courses are available for anyone that is 19 years old and over, that have lived in the EU/UK for the past 3 years.

No previous experience or knowledge of this subject is required.

You will be provided with an interactive learning account, containing practical advice and guidance to aid your learning journey.  We use an online learning platform known as eAssessor Pro to submit your written answers, all of our online courses are broken into bite-sized topics/sections and you submit your studies for feedback and guidance as you work your way through your chosen course.

Please don’t worry, there are no exams!  Plus, you will supported from start to finish by one of our online course tutors, who are industry experts in their own specialised fields.

  • Training and Development Coordinator: This position involves designing and implementing training programs that educate staff on LGBT inclusion, fostering a more understanding and respectful workplace culture.
  • Community Engagement Specialist: In this role, you can work with local organisations to promote LGBT inclusion initiatives, helping to build bridges between the workplace and the community.
  • Support Worker or Advocate: These roles often require sensitivity and knowledge regarding LGBT issues, providing support to individuals who may face discrimination or need assistance navigating their rights in various settings.

Please note that while this qualification provides a strong foundation, further training or qualifications may be necessary for more advanced or specific roles.

All courses are flexible part-time learning, from the comfort of your own home, requiring 3-4 hours of self-study per week. The duration of this course is 12 weeks.
