Esports - Content Creation and Media Production

You will study via a range of diverse projects:

• Engage in a variety of hands-on projects that mirror real-world industry demands: 
• Produce engaging video podcasts and insightful video documentaries. 
• Design and host interactive gameshows. 
• Craft compelling graphic designs for video and web. 
• Create realistic merchandise mock-ups and powerful promotional videos. 
• Dive into the world of game design with basic visual level design. 

• Technical Mastery: Gain experience in running a studio, operating state-of-the-art cameras and lighting equipment, and ensuring pristine audio capture. 
• Digital Design Proficiency: Harness the power of the Adobe Suite, mastering tools like Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, and After Effects. 
• State-of-the-Art Facilities: Learn and create in our bespoke esports classroom and fully operational green screen studio. 
• Event Showcase: Utilise our theatre space, equipped with a cutting-edge laser projector, for grand Esports events. 
• Competitive Edge: Join our Esports team for thrilling competitions as part of your extra-curricular activities. 

What experiences will I get?

The skills honed in this course are not limited to the Esports realm. Graduates are equipped for roles in diverse industries such as media, IT, Events Management, and Marketing. Whether you're directing a live broadcast, designing captivating graphics, or managing large-scale events, this course lays the foundation for a vibrant career path. 

The large Level 3 qualification is intended for students wanting to progress directly to employment creating content for commercial and Esports.

Additionally, the breadth of content in this qualification and its equivalence to 3 A-Levels allows learners to widen their opportunities to progress to several different Higher Education courses.

You will require a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grades 9-4 (formerly A*-C) including English and Maths.

Learners will be assessed by a series of internally-created and moderated projects and each year finished with a Final Major Project (FMP) which will gain the overall mark for that year (Pass, Merit or Distinction).

Each student will carry out five days of individually sourced work experience with in each year of the course.

On completion of this, two-year Extended Diploma progression to a university-level course here at Bournemouth and Poole College or further a field.
