Course Overview

This course offers the opportunity for full-time study for 19+. Students will gain Level 1 ESOL qualifications and a Level 1 certfiicate/award in Progression. As well as developing your English Language Skills, the course includes Functional Skills Maths, Employabillity, making links with the local community, volunteering and enrichment..

Students will study Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. You will develop your vocabulary on various subjects including: community, food and healthy eating, personal development, aspects of law and many other topics. There are opportunities to visit local places of interest, write CVs, practise interview skills and connect with other students as well as people in the wider community.

The course is for students progressing from full-time educaiton and for adults wishing to further their ESOL studies, obtain qualifications in both Maths and ESOL as well as finding gainful employment.

You will have Entry Level 3 ESOL or equivalent (CEFR -B1).

Gateway ESOL exams and Functional Skills Maths.

Your course will include elements of volunteering and preparation for the workplace.

Progress to various Level 2 courses at the College, or continue to Level 2 Functional Skills Maths, GCSEs and/or ESOL.

You will build confidence, gain qualifications and develop language skills in order to apply for suitable local employment.
