Course Overview
The course is a good starting point for students who also need to study English and Maths alongside their course, and there will be lots of opportunities for the students to take part in practical learning including cooking, making bottles and sterilizing baby equipment, and spending time in the simulation rooms.
We will learn all about different units including:
Confidence building for the young child through play
Listening and talking with a young child
Providing a safe and hygienic environment for a young child
Play and learning in the home
Eating healthily
The Entry 3 Certificate in Caring for Children is a course designed for students who are interested in working with children, and encourages them to understand the skills needed to care for a baby or a young child
A minimum of 4 x GCSE's grades 1 and above or equivalent.
Work is assessed by building a portfolio of evidence unit by unit.
They may be some oportunities for work experience on the course, but there will be many opportunities for work related activities on the course in the forms of visits to different childcare settings, and speakers.
You may be able to progress onto any Level 1 course after completing this E3 course including Level 1 Certificate in Care.
Working with children in a volunteer capacity in an early years setting.
