Bournemouth and Poole College Domestic Gas Foundation course is designed for people wishing to enter the gas industry.
This 8 week gas course (one week per month) is essential training and assessment for candidates looking to gain access to the Gas Industry. Gas training is a mandatory part of becoming Gas Safe registered. This training program will provide you with a great insight into the Gas industry and present you with an understanding of the guidelines and regulations which currently govern the ACS scheme.
During this period of gas training we will cover:-
Anybody for a complete career change. Not just plumbers wanting to become Gas engineers
Have a minimum of 18 weeks of recorded work with a 'Gas-safe' registered engineer.
You will undertake written exams and practical assessments whist at the college.
Whilst away from college the candidate must be working with a gas safe registered engineer (minimum of 18 weeks recorded) who will provide ‘on the job’ training in order to provide work-based evidence and completion of a portfolio.
On successful completion of the training, portfolio and successful recommendation, candidates are issued with a BPEC Gas Foundation Certificate.
Upon receipt of the Gas Foundation certificate candidates can then apply to undertake the relevant ACS assessments.
As part of the course 2 ‘domestic gas training manuals’ will be provided plus the issue of a blank portfolio with guidance on how to complete it
On completion of the course, you will receive Gas Foundation Certificate. You can then apply to undertake the relevant Initial ACS assessments.
Once you pass their assessments, you can become Gas Safe registered and then work on Natural Gas in the qualified elements .
After passing the initial ACS assessments and gaining industry experience you can increase your qualifications by adding additional appliances e.g., Cookers and Fires or LPG.
Upon achieving your qualification you can go onto to apply for any job in the domestic gas industry.
The total cost for the course is £4300. There is NO VAT at the college.
The cost of ACS Examinations are not included.
