Course Overview

This is the second year of the Diploma in Education & Training.

This qualification will be offered at Level 4 in year 1 and Level 5 in year 2. 

During the both years of the course there is an expectation of the following:

  • Learners will have an initial assessment of literacy, numeracy and ICT
  • There will be 120 guided learning hours and 420 self directed study hours
  • The learner will receive tutorial support throughout the course

Suitable for those in a full teaching role who will be applying for Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status. 

You will need to have successfully completed DET Year 1 to apply for this course.
 

It is expected that anyone entering this course will normally possess a minimum level 3 qualification in his/her own area of specialism and a Level 2 in English and maths.

There is a requirement for a minimum of  50 hours of teaching practice.

You will need to have successfully completed DET Year 1 to apply for this course.

Learners who have completed this course can progress to the BA (Hons) in Education and Training.

Fees are made payable to Bournemouth and Poole College
 

Applications for the part-time Diploma in Education and Training should be made directly to The Bournemouth & Poole College and not via the UCAS process.
