Course Overview
if you are over 19 and out of education/training/work and are unsure about your future, then this programme is ideal to get your life back on track, help rebuild your confidence in an educational setting and enable you to gain a qualification.
The course is the 2nd stage of the A2FE programme and you will have already successfully completed stage 1 of Access to Further Education. As part of the programme, we will help you to match your personal interests with a relevant suitable course/vocation. This is particularly ideal if you wish to change career direction or have a strong interest in a specific subject/field.
- There will be 120 guided learning hours
- You will receive tutorial support throughout the course
- Identify vocational options and match skills to careers/courses
- Research your ideal job or career opportunity in a chosen or preferred field.
- Preparation for moving forwards onto other mainstream courses
- Basic Skills Assessment (English and Maths)
You will also be given lots of support to improve your skills in:
- English
- IT
There are no specific entry requirements but you must be over 16 years old and able to attend college for 12 hours each week.
You will be assessed throughout the course and will build up credit as you go. At the end of the course, you can end up with 19 Credits (including IT)
On successful completion, you will be able to identify a variety of vocational options and decide how you can move forward in education to achieve your goals.
