Department Overview
Working closely with the British Marine Federation, our courses are very hands-on and have been designed to match industry requirements. Our well-equipped workshops provide the opportunity to work under real conditions in the perfect coastal location. You’ll gain further work experience with local businesses including Sunseeker International, the RNLI and Poole Marine Services. Our superb facilities include:
- 20 working marine engines – inboard and outboard
- 3 complete working steering helms from makers such as Simrad, Raymarine & Garmin
- VHF sets, GPS, AIS (Automatic Identification Systems), Radar, Autopilots, Flux-Gates & Rate Sensors, along with all the electrical systems associated with this equipment like Chargers, Inverters & Power Distribution
- Fully working training systems for PLCs (Programmable Logic Comptrollers), Hydraulics and Audio-Visual installations on all types of marine craft.
