Whether you’re interested in site carpentry, bench joinery, shop or kitchen fitting, furniture making or boat building, come and study wood trades at a college that gets outstanding results. You’ll learn all the skills and techniques you need to succeed in the industry all over the world.
Department Overview
All of our courses are very hands-on, so you will get as much practical experience as possible to prepare you for work. Training and assessment is all full size – we don’t use models or simulations – so you get useful and realistic work experience.
You’ll learn from highly competent teachers with a wealth of industrial knowledge. Our facilities are state-of-the-art and create a true working environment. We work closely with major local employers, such as Sunseeker International, Tekne Shopfitting and Churchview Joinery.
Most of our students progress to employment and they go on to a wide range of jobs in the field, with some also progressing to site supervision, civil engineering and construction design.
