Construction - Trowel Trades
Do you want to learn the practical skills and techniques to work in brickwork or plastering?
Department Overview
You can gain nationally recognised qualifications at a centre that gets outstanding results. Our purpose built, state-of-the-art facilities create a true working environment, so you’ll be ready for work when you leave. The Plasterers Guild has previously awarded us leading plastering provider in the South West, and around 93% of our students progress to employment.
Our students consistently win regional and national competitions, and progress to a range of exciting jobs in the industry, including site supervisors or even running their own businesses, working on both commercial and domestic projects.
We work closely with a number of major local businesses, including Morgan Sindall and British Gypsum to bring you the best opportunities in the area.
Because construction is about hand skills and techniques, all courses have an 80% bias towards practical activities. Alongside this practical work, you’ll also take part in clearly structured and relevant classroom activities. You’ll be taught by experienced teachers with a wealth of industry knowledge on full size projects - we don’t use models or simulations.
