Students Collect Considerable Funds for Charity in ‘Sand Walk’ at Sandbanks
T-Level Education and Early Year students has been extremely busy and have completed a series of fundraising activities in support of ‘Bundles of Love’, a local charity dedicated to providing essential items for families in need. Links had initially been made with this charity for them to come into the college and tell us more about their work so that we can work alongside to help them fundraise. The students were inspired by the charities mission, and decided to take on three initiatives to raise both funds and awareness.
Beginning with Spreading the Word, the students designed a poster and sent an accompanying email to all of the settings they work with. This encouraged nurseries and childcare providers to support the charity by setting up donation boxes for essential baby and family items.
Secondly, a College-Wide Collection post was shared via Teamhub, and students reached out to their families, friends and the wider community. The response back was incredible, with a huge number of essential items donated.
Lastly, the 10km sponsored walk! On Wednesday, March 19th, the group embarked on a charitable fundraising walk to support Bundles that Love. The walk took place along the beautiful Sandbanks beach from the Jazz Café to Bournemouth pier and back.
This event is not only an opportunity to raise funds, but also a chance for students to come together, and reflect on the importance of giving back. Many of our students are training for careers in health, and education fields that require compassion, dedication and a strong sense of community. By taking part in the Sand Walk, they are putting these values into action whilst promoting awareness of Bundles of Love and its incredible work.
We are incredibly proud of our students for their commitment to this cause and encourage everyone to support them. – whether that’s through donating, or spreading the word about the fundraiser. Every step they take brings them closer to making a positive impact.
Initially setting a goal of £200, the students quickly realised they could achieve even more and raised target to £300. However, Thanks to their dedication and the generosity of those that were reached out to by the students, this target was still smashed out of the window despite the increase and managed to raise a phenomenal £535!
The effort that went towards this fundraising doesn’t only provide the much-needed support, but also gave the students valuable experience in teamwork, organisation, and community. The group and incredibly grateful for everyone who contributed. They should all be very proud of themselves!
A huge well done to everyone involved.
