The Foundation department held its annual Christmas pantomime on Wednesday, 4th December with a packed audience of friends, family, staff and fellow students.

The pantomime, Cinderella, was performed by 12 Foundation STEPS students with teachers Carol Palmer and Michelle Linz, on Paula Lock’s (Learning Manager for Foundation Learning) birthday, who said she: “Couldn’t think of anywhere better to be.”

The scene opened with Narrators Daniel and teachers Carol Palmer and Michelle Linz introducing the ugly stepsisters (Joshua and Louise). Buttons was played by Darryll and the Prince by Alex. Fairy Godmothers (in double) were Andreea and Clare. Bardon Hardup was played by Allan, whereas the mice were played by Grace and Jenny. Also, Temi played the cat.

Finally, the lead role of Cinderella was played by Derri with a quick change into her gown mid-way through the performance. Claire sang ‘Save all your kisses for me’, and Jenny on the piano played ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ with the grand finale of ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas.’

Paula Lock, speaking on behalf of the students said: “What a lovely performance it was. The students were really engaged and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The audience also loved the show. It was a really cracking performance and special thanks go to Carol and Michelle in my team for helping get it ready.”
