Foundation Students sell their Wares at their Christmas Fayre
Foundation students from all pathways, worked together to create crafts for the Foundation Christmas Fayre on Wednesday, 27th November.
With all sorts of items, the fayre was a resounding success, generating £1000 for Julia’s House charity.
A member of staff donated an amazing Christmas cake to win, in the shape of a bed, with decorative stalls galore. The college was a hubbub of activity, as people purchased their Christmas goods – in the shape of trees, gonks, reindeer, pretzels, badges, handmade mince pies and had a try at the raffle to win the cake and other amazing prizes on the tombola stall.
Also, many other food wares were prepared for Christmas customers including, turkey baps and more delicious cakes including lemon drizzle cake. There was a lucky dip and handmade crafts galore.
Foundation students, from the area, said they have enjoyed the crafting and making the cakes and mince pies to sell for the event.
Paula Lock, Learning Manager for Foundation Studies, said: “The fayre this year made a whopping £1000 which was a fantastic outcome. Our students enthusiastically put their efforts into making lots of Christmas crafts. It’s always a good and fun exercise for our students and the fayre is generally well attended and well received; with this year being no exception.”
The Foundation Christmas Fayre has now become synonymous with students and staff alike. It is now an annual event that is looked forward to, as part of the run-up to Christmas.
