The college has secured an exciting £122k of Department of Education (DoE) funding to run three international trips for a total of 55 students across Portugal, Spain and Kenya.

Students will have an opportunity to take part in industry related placements and social action projects, that are not only focusing on social justice and community impact but also linked directly to their industry. This will provide them with valuable and an unforgettable opportunity to gain skills and experiences.

These opportunities are open to students across our Creative Industries, Service Industries, Business as well as our Senior Reps and Exec Students. These trips will commence in April 2025 and run through to August 2025.

There will be a focus on supporting students to access these opportunities who may have barriers preventing them from accessing these.

Pippa Allner, Personal Development Manager said: “This is an excellent opportunity for the college’s students, they are going to feel great benefit from this. This will enable them to gain industry placement experience as well as develop leadership skills, team work and resilience. They will make memories that last a life time. To secure funding in this manner for students to see parts of the world they might not otherwise encounter, is truly humbling and will be greatly beneficial to their studies.”

The funding has been secured as part of the Department of Education’s Turing Scheme. More information can be found here Homepage - Turing Scheme
