First established in 1868 Dickies has been known as a boat builder, repairer, engineer and broker for well over a century. Today Dickies is a Premier Marine Service operation based in North Wales. Our service, repair and sales offer a fully mobile team and a solution for all your boating needs . We are main agents for Volvo, Suzuki, Eberspacher and Copper Coat At our North Wales office we offer 13 acres of boat storage, engineering, boat sales, yard facilities, and commercial Port Facilities.

Future Prospects

Prospect of full time position upon completion.

GCSE grade 4/C in English and Maths or functional skills level 2 or equivalent.

• Bournemouth & Poole College will be the apprenticeship provider for this Level 3 apprenticeship. • This is a block release course. • The employer will give guidance and support throughout • Off-the-job training must make up at least 20% of the apprentice’s contracted hours, over the total duration of the apprentice’s planned training period • This Standard apprenticeship may include Functional Skills in maths and/or English as required • Some course units covered: Introduction to the marine industry, Servicing and maintenance of marine engines and ancillary systems, Installation, fault diagnosis and repair of marine engines and more. • The apprentice will be on program for 4 years and will be undertaking the marine engineering standard.
