The Open Day event was held across the college’s three campuses at Poole, Bournemouth and the Fulcrum Centre at Tower Park, giving prospective students the opportunity to see campus facilities and discuss the wide range of course options available to them.
Resulting applications were up by almost three times on the previous open day in October 2023, attributed to the fact that people are now beginning to ‘firm-up’ their decision on their studies for the next academic year. Forty offers were made directly on the day.
A steady stream of potential students met with course lecturers, student support staff and finance staff to assist in supporting their studies. The conversations and activity in the rooms were invigorating and engaging.
Phil Sayles, Principal of Bournemouth and Poole College said: “Our Open Days provide a fantastic opportunity for prospective students to see the facilities that will inspire them to achieve their career goals and to meet with course staff, support staff and employers.
"The enthusiasm of all our visitors to engage with various curriculum areas across all three campuses was remarkable and we are so grateful to all who attended.
"We remain hugely proud of the wide range of opportunities we are able to offer our students and are thrilled that the number of applications on the day far exceeded those made on our previous Open Day in October."
